Whats Coffee Got to Do with Recruiting Everything.

Whats Coffee Got to Do with Recruiting Everything. Coffee-holics unite in agreement that every day should be National Coffee Day. The great news is, for many, today is really is! The majority of businesses rely heavily on both the caffeinated and social perks of coffee. In fact, our internal research suggests 73.4 percent of employees drink coffee, making it much more popular than other caffeinated beverages. With the job market flooded with candidates constantly searching for a new career path, it’s crucial for organizations to acknowledge even the smallest workplace advantages. Here’s a look at how understanding employees’ coffee consumption trends can enhance the recruiting process: Keep up with the jitterbugs Keeping up with job seeker trends is tough, but it’s important to know what keeps them motivated, especially when it comes to the ever-important cup of coffee. Could the smell of fresh brewed coffee draw quality recruits in? Our survey showed 67.1 percent of employees report needing a coffee boost in the morning to start their day so odds are, if you brew it, they will come. It’s easy to identify which people in the office fall under this statistic. Those who need at least one cup of coffee before being greeted, those who need a strong, dark cup in their hand all day to function, and the guy who will argue to his death that his coffee place makes the only coffee worth sipping. Employees are selective when it comes to their motivation nectar, and they’ll let you know. Most employees, 20.9 percent, crave Starbucks while 12.9 percent are heading to Dunkin Donuts on their break. Discovering and retaining employees is the key to creating successful businesses, and while we can’t all be fueled by a coffee IV, the need to feed our coffee addictions grows with age. For those over 66 who are still hanging around the office, 87.9 percent can be found congregating around the coffee pot, and 70 percent of employees under 25 are drinking it up. Free coffee is good coffee Once high quality candidates are hired, organizations are constantly on the hunt for creative ways to keep employees happy and motivated. This can be done through fun engagement strategies, loosening the reigns on flexibility, and a great cup of coffee. Men and women don’t always agree on everything, but they’re in almost total accord about their love for coffee. About 34 percent of women drink two or more cups a day and 36.1 percent of men prefer the same amount. This common ground can be a handy tool in showing your employees their efforts are recognized. Gift cards to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts can be used as simple, but appreciated thank-yous and incentives. While you’re looking for cost effective ways to say “I appreciate you,” why not show employees you value their hard work with a custom cup o’ free joe in the office. While the majority of companies are already offering complimentary drinks, you can take your coffee game to the next level. Most employees, 48.1 percent to be exact, enjoy cream, milk, sugar, or flavoring added to their brew. Keep a constant flow of employees’ favorite coffee fixings in the kitchen to show you’re a company who really knows and cares about its team. Encouraging highly productive employees who feel appreciated at your company doesn’t have to be a complicated task just keep the coffee flowing. How do you use coffee to show your appreciation to employees? Let us know! Natalie Hackbarth is the Inbound Marketing Manager of Quantum Workplace, a company dedicated to providing every organization with quality engagement tools.

Three Types of Resumes

Three Types of ResumesResume writing is a very important task because it allows you to express your quality and competency, which are two elements that are often associated with working in the business. It also provides information to potential employers on what you have accomplished in your career, and how well you can handle new challenges and responsibilities that will be presented to you.Resume writing entails different approaches for different individuals. Each resume should emphasize on the ability and competence that you have, along with any relevant experience. The type of resume that suits you best will depend on your specific professional needs. There are three general kinds of resumes. One is a personal-centered resume, which emphasizes the past accomplishments of the applicant, without being too self-centered. This kind of resume reflects the strengths and talents that you possess and helps you focus on how you can help the company succeed. Personal-centered resumes should be short, one page, and are targeted at providing as much information about the applicant as possible.A second type of resume is a professional-centered resume. Professional-centered resumes concentrate on the necessary skills and expertise that you can offer the company. They also highlight the skills that the company requires and which you can bring to the table. They are typically two pages long, and are a little more concise than personal-centered resumes.A third type of resume is the strategic-oriented resume, which highlights the main job duties and responsibilities that you are best suited for, while still including the relevant experience and education details. Strategic-oriented resumes are less detailed, usually only covering qualifications that make you qualified for the position. They are both one page long, and they are most often used to market job vacancies.Resume writing is a necessary task because it allows you to get more attention from prospective employers. It a lso gives you the opportunity to express your talents and qualifications to potential employers in a more organized manner. However, despite the efficiency of resume writing, you need to put in enough effort to be able to write the most professional resume. The following are some tips on how to write a resume: know what it is that you want to convey to the employer, and how you will get there; use bullet points for headings, rather than just giving a list of qualifications; put in specific details of the qualities that you are most skilled at, rather than talking about those things that you are good at; and check to see if the resume content is grammatically correct. If it is not, revise it immediately, and edit it if necessary. There are many things that you should take into consideration when you are writing a resume. A well-written resume not only shows your abilities, but also helps to create more favorable impressions of the company, and it gives you a clear idea of what kind of job you would be able to offer them. Resume writing should not be taken lightly, and you should consider spending time on it, as it could be the difference between getting an interview or not.

4 Tips for Running A 100% Remote Business

4 Tips for Running A 100% Remote Business Whether it’s the benefit of having a more flexible schedule or the freedom to work from home, many CEOs and business owners are finding that running operations remotely is a perfect fit for their companies. But expecting a remote firm to run anything like a traditional business can be a big mistake. Thing is, running a 100% remote business requires an entirely opposite management approach, one that demands vigilance and constant communication. It requires a little more planning as you can’t walk around and see employees at their cubes. Also, the presence of a dispersed team can affect many aspects of paying people, managing projects and hiring resources to such an extent that conventional will no longer apply. With that said, running a remote business is a huge incentive to many CEOs as well as employees, so if you manage processes right, you can easily have a productive, satisfied and loyal workforce that’s ready to help you and your company succeed. Here are 4 ways to achieve just that. 1. Internationalize Your Payments   Traditional payroll may not work in a remote setting, where you might have employees who’ve been contracted for just a few weeks. Internationalizing your payments is the best way to ensure everyone gets paid on time. Options like Ria Money Transfer enable businesses to send money online with their bank, credit card, debit card and even cash. Payment methods like these have their advantages over conventional wire transfers, including lower transfer fees and faster delivery. In addition, some vendors will allow you to make the money available for cash pickup at one of their locations, so paying remote workers would no longer be a hassle. 2. Develop Shared Leadership When you’re overseeing employees remotely, it’s crucial to not just give personnel a list of tasks to do, but also give them the ability to pull their teams ahead. If you just keep on delegating without giving employees an opportunity to take initiative, it’s likely that they will begin feeling like task monkeys. A better approach would include measures like assigning experienced employees as mentors to help onboard new members or asking them to carry out virtual team-building exercises. This will also take some pressure off of upper management. 3. Use Technology to Streamline Processes   Running a company remotely is more convenient than ever courtesy of the applications and software  that mimic the feel of a traditional office environment without setting foot in one. Instead of relying on conferencing via telephone, managers can now have video chats using tools like Google+ hangouts. Likewise, they can keep documents and important files in a place where everyone can access them using apps like Google Docs. Then there’s all the web-based collaboration platforms that provide employees with the option to log all leads, sales,  and calls. Hence, you have several kinds of technologies available to use for your own benefit. 4. Check in Regularly There’s a saying that there’s nothing worse than being a seagull manager â€" a person who files in, talks a lot, leaves everyone a not-so-pleasant present and flies away. To run a remote business well, this is exactly what you shouldn’t be like. However, it’s important to drop in from time to time. You can perhaps have a central workplace where you could invite everyone a few times in a year. Visits to remote locations should always be scheduled, so as not to bombard workers. Schedule your time with people so they can be prepared, rather than interrupting everybody else’s workflow. Running a 100% remote business can be a challenge, but implementing these tips would significantly improve your chances of succeeding.

How to Promote Yourself 6 Lessons from the Edinburgh Fringe

How to Promote Yourself 6 Lessons from the Edinburgh Fringe The Edinburgh Fringe Festival  2014 is now in full swing. Thousands of  shows take place throughout August across the city, from stand-up comedy and sketch shows to street performance, cabaret and kid?s clubs. Every nook and cranny within the Scottish capital has had a black curtain draped across it to create a place for people to perform. Every year I go up to the Festival for a few  days to take in some shows and it always amazes me the lengths people go to promote their work and how many people make the simplest, but potentially catastrophic mistakes when trying to promote themselves. Coincidently, the principles of promoting yourself whilst looking for new job opportunities are very similar to attracting an audience for a Fringe performance. Here are just a few lessons which can be taken away from the world?s largest arts festival: 1) As seen on TV: It obviously helps if you already have a profile. Comedians who have been on T.V such as Frank Skinner and Al Murray will need little promotion to sell out big venues as people will have already heard of them and are reassured (if they like the performer) that they will deliver a show they will enjoy. Similarly, it is possible for you to improve your chances of getting hired by increasing your profile within the industry you work in. This can be achieved by engaging online with relevant peers and influencers through discussion groups, commenting and taking part in conversations on Twitter and LinkedIn and blogging on subjects relevant to your chosen industry. This will increase your chances that a potential employer will have already heard of you when your C.V lands on their desk or at the very least you will have some proof that you are actively involved and interested in the sector. 2) Five stars: Reviews, quotes and testimonials are all important as they are an indicator of your skills and ability. You should be proactive in asking people to provide them and collecting them for CV and online profile. However, it is crucial that all the sources are relevant i.e. sector specific if possible or at least from people who have actually worked with you (no friends or relatives allowed). Also, don?t be tempted to doctor quotes to change how they can be interpreted. A 5  star review isn?t a 5  star review if the scoring system is out of ten. Manipulating testimonials may get your foot in the door, but if your deception is discovered or you don?t live up to expectations then your reputation may be permanently ruined. 3) Standing  out from the crowd: For those who have been to the Edinburgh Festival you will know that it is impossible to walk down the Royal Mile, due to the sheer numbers of street artists, performers and drama students singing, dancing and juggling in front of you whilst also trying to thrust promotional flyers into your hands. It is extremely difficult to stand out from the crowd, but also by being too outlandish or appearing too desperate, there is a danger of alienating your potential audience. Make your CV stand out by its content succinctly selling what is unique about you, but what is also relevant to the employer not by adding lots of different colours, fonts and a zany photo! It may also be beneficial to try channels that the majority of other people haven?t tried (i.e. away from the Royal Mile) such as a video, Slideshare or a Prezi presentation. 4) The  devil is in the detail: It is amazing how many people miss off important information from their flyers and posters such as where the venue is, how much it costs, who the target audience is and even what the show is actually about (sometimes a title just isn?t enough). With so much competition around no-one is going to go out of their way to see a show unless they know exactly what they are letting themselves in for. The same applies to your C.V. Make sure it contains all the required information and is relevant to the position you are applying for. In a competitive market it is unlikely that you will be contacted for further information if your CV lacks the relevant details. It will be destined for the same location as the majority of the flyers in Edinburgh. 5) A dalmatian in the rain: Endlessly promoting yourself and competing against some many other shows for a month can be relentless. As you can probably imagine, flyering around Edinburgh dressed as a Dalmatian in the pouring rain to attract an audience of four on a daily basis can be extremely demotivating. However success will come to those who continue to have self-belief and persistence, and who continue to learn and improve By being determined, learning from your experiences (CV advice, interview feedback etc.) and adapting your processes accordingly you will gradually get closer to landing the job role that you desire. 6) Call  my agent: In the entertainment industry an agent can help  you to promote yourself. Unfortunately it comes at a fee (at least 10%!). There is also the chicken and egg scenario that you can?t get an agent until you have the experience, but it?s difficult to get experience without an agent.

Tips For Writing a Slp Cfy Resume

Tips For Writing a Slp Cfy ResumeThere are many tips for writing a set cfy resume, but what does it really take to write one that stands out? What do you need to do to get your resume noticed? In this article I will give you some tips for writing a set cfy resume.Your resume should be creative. You don't want it to be a cookie cutter resume that everyone else is writing. If your resume is boring and predictable you won't stand out and people won't even look at it. Make sure you use style and proper grammar.Formatting is important as well. Most people who submit resumes will use the same format. Do yourself a favor and make sure your resume looks professional. I am not saying that you should go overboard, but make sure it looks neat and professional. If you don't like it, it will look awkward and people won't notice that you have used the same format for years.Ask yourself what you are trying to accomplish with your resume. Is it to get a job or do you want to be in a particular posit ion? Are you in a position that you want to be in or are you just out to become a better employee? It is very important to think about what you want your potential employer to know before they read your resume. You need to make them feel like you are confident about your ability to do the job.Think about what position you are in and see if you are fit for it. Look at how your skills match up with the job position and think about if they are even needed for the position. Some people are good at certain things and can't get by on other things, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to get byon them if you are in a position where you are having trouble.Back up your resume with examples of other resumes. Sometimes you will find something in a job posting that will make you look like a qualified candidate for the position. Use those examples to give you some insight into what other people are looking for.Another thing that you should be aware of when you are writing a set cfy resum e is that you need to write the 'bottom line'. This should be a statement that summarizes what your resume is all about. Be honest and concise, but remember that you want the employer to read your resume without having to read a million words!Remember that you can write a great resume for any job. Use these tips for writing a set cfy resume and you should do just fine! Good luck!
